For over three years, I wrote for various publications in the Mid-Missouri area – both professional and student-publications. I was responsible for researching, writing, and editing the articles that I submitted for publication.

  • Pirate Press- between my sophomore and senior years in high school, I served as the social media editor and web editor on the Pirate Press staff, the student ran publication. I was responsible for writing and publishing articles and graphic designs (such as infographics) – while also maintaining the Facebook page and the publication website.
  • Boonville Daily News– between October 2014 and February 2015, I published several articles with the local newspaper owned by Gatehouse Media. I served an unpaid internship under the editor. Articles I published included a 10/25/50/75 column, a book review which was almost partially syndicated by the New York Times (“The Book that is Truly a Hidden Secret”), and an article covering the demolition of a local elementary school (“Memories Remain But Central Elementary Becomes History”)
  • KMZU- I covered city council meetings for the local FM radio station “KMZU 100.7 FM.” In addition to publishing articles recapping city council meetings, audio interviews were conducted and edited for playback on the air.

Linked here is a copy of all my “professionally-published” pieces, which were either published in the BDN or by KMZU.
