RIP Windows Vista!

RIP Windows Vista. 2006-2017.

The first computer I used was a Gateway 2000 running Windows 3.1. I was fascinated by the technology in that machine, despite being outdated when I acquired it.

My first computer at home which could connect to the internet was a HP Pavilion. My parents purchased the computer in Christmas 2006, and it was one of the first computers produced in the “RTM” (release-to-manufacture) phase.

While Windows Vista was known as being a buggy operating system (and trust me, that HP had BSoD’s left and right), it was a good “starter” operating system.

The extended support phase for Windows Vista ended last week. Windows XP and Vista are two operating systems that are well beyond their prime but still see a lot of use to this day.
