New Computer: Dell Inspiron 620

Another computer has joined my fleet of computers…

A family member recently purchased a new computer and gave me her old computer, a Dell Inspiron 620. From what I can tell, this computer is from around 2012.

The Inspiron 620…

Believe it or not, this computer is actually fairly well featured. It has an Intel Core i5 clocked at 3.0GHz, 6GB RAM, 500GB hard drive, and a wireless networking card installed. It runs Windows 7.

Since I “killed” the T420 back in March, and the T42 is running Windows 7 with only 512MB of RAM, it is nice to have a reliable Windows machine again. While somewhat of an odd configuration, 6GB is the most RAM I’ve ran on Windows 7.

I received the computer with a keyboard, mouse (nice since my Logitech wireless mouse died recently), and a monitor. The keyboard has a very nice feel and sound to it. The monitor isn’t as nice as the other Dell monitor I already had, as the monitor that I got with the Inspiron doesn’t automatically go into standby when the computer sleeps or is turned off.
