The Missouri StateWide Interoperability Network, or MOSWIN, is a public safety radio network operated by the State of Missouri allowing for inter-department communications. Local, state and federal agencies — including law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical and emergency management agencies — can all use the P25 trunked network to communicate with each other.
According to Missouri Department of Public Safety, MOSWIN supports more than 55,000 radios used by more than 1,500 agencies. Some state level users of the service include the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, and the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency. As previously mentioned, many law enforcement agencies — sheriff offices and municipal police departments — and fire departments heavily utilize the network.
There are more than 150 MOSWIN repeater sites scattered throughout the state for optimal coverage for agencies. I am currently working on a map of MOSWIN repeater sites, but below is a list of sites I’ve photographed.
